Nugs just want to have fun

It's  been a while since I last wrote, so I thought I would catch you up. Not with much detail, but enough so you can continue to learn about the fun life of a Nug.

Christmas 2013- so great! It was very low key because my brother could not make it home for the holidays. In a way that was a blessing. Mid night mass was beautiful and no one fought over the once a year Catholics stealing the 50 year catholic's seat. Success.

Everyone asks, so I'll answer. Favorite present:
Ping pong balls... For ping pong
Night gown granny style. I get a new one every year #tradition

Also, the cousins and I had a very intense game of "I Spy" with Grammy. Grammy won because she told us to look for something blue. We did. No one could spy it... That's because Grammy spied GREEN marbles in a jar.

End of Christmas break was celebrated with a Bruins game. A Magical day filled with surprises from my father. This frugal man goes all out at hockey games. Vallet parking and lunch and bar before the game. Ohh, and they won. 4 goals 3 fights. So wonderful.

Then came the road trip back to DC. On they way my two friend Nicole and Meghan joined me to visit one of my favorite priest friends... Fr. Andy. The most sarcastic, hilarious, first world priest you will ever meet. Perhaps one of my favorites. We bonded on a mission trip to Ecuador last year. Oh my, was he a joy to spend a week with.

Anyways he is now a parish priest in jersey with a fine closet. We had lunch. visited the beach and his church.

Finally we arrived to DC. Training starts for student ministry. Highlight: first experience at Shake shack. Yum.

Community Prayer Time. Wonderful. #shoutouttoanthony

First week if class. One if my professors introduces the Nugget Method. Nuff said.

First weekend... The bomb diggity.
Friday night: ice skating in the sculpture garden. Witnessed a proposal and took many selfies.

Saturday: woke up, and came down stairs to a fort being built in our living room. Joe and Max found all the sheets they could find and made themselves a cave to watch football in. It's pretty legit. There should be a max capacity but there isn't.

Went to the national gallery of art with max and Meghan.
Celebrated Meagan Koeths 21st birthday with a Mexican fiesta.
Concluded the night with Lone Survivor!
Obvi couldn't sleep after that movie so some ping pong and Jesus selfies were taken.

Sunday: 11 am mass, the best way to start the day. And then, spontaneously decided to go to Eastern Market for some Gelato. Chocolate hazelnut is the way to go!

Then visited one of my favorite places on earth, Capitol City Books.

This is Schultz. He is the definition if a stud.

The night ended with watching football in the famous tent.

Happy MLK day!
