I arrive and shoot them a text. They say, oh well you may be waiting a bit. I preoccupy myself by running to Dunkin, (because that's what American's do, we "run on Dunkin.")One of my favorite places on earth. I end up with not only one hot cocoa but 7, because it's Christmas.
Finally they arrive. We hug and hot cocoa is sipped. We walk to the rosary pond circle. Our theology major friend, Billy is trying to educate us on the meaning behind this specific crucifix. The girls are trying to catch up on the past 3 days apart while the men just walk to make the cold more bearable.
3 minutes into this beautiful walk, over the loud speaker we hear..."the lights will be shut off in 15 minutes..."
Well shucks! The gang just drove an hour and I sat in my car for 30 mins, to now only enjoy 15 minutes of insanely awesome Christmas lights.
So with 15 minutes we are able to watch Peter climb some icey stairs that are labeled "do not enter for your own safety." Billy continues his theology lesson. John and Nicole are hoping that Peter falls on ice just so they can laugh even harder. And Ross just cannot wait to find a bathroom. Surprisingly Meg and I are the only normal behaved adults in this situation.
Even though we were only their for 15 minutes we accomplished what every group of Catholic kids would do. Pose for a quick picture Infront of the manger.
The night concluded with some KFC, even though there was a mcDanks with a jungle gym right down the road...
Some literal nugs were enjoyed.
Please enjoy the jovial faces of these people who made my night a wonderful winter experience.
