Short Stature

The title really says it all. I happily measure in at 5'2". I love my height. It adds to what being a nugget is- physically, small.

So recently I went to my doctor, a pediatrician. (Don't ask questions #healthcareprobs).
I thoroughly enjoy the theme of the office. The walls are painted like you are a Nug on a journey through blades of grass. It reminds me a lot of the movie The Bug's Life.
So here I am, 20, year old me, sitting alone in the patient's room waiting for the doctor. She enters and immediately asks me to get on the examination table.
I needed to pull over the step up stool to get onto the table. Enough said.

Holiday Humor

So, God has a sense of humor.  What happened this time? Well some friends of mine road tripped from school in DC to MA. I was going to meet them at Lasalette Shrine, for some amazing Christmas lights and prayers.

I arrive and shoot them a text. They say, oh well you may be waiting a bit. I preoccupy myself by running to Dunkin, (because that's what American's do, we "run on Dunkin.")One of my favorite places on earth.  I end up with not only one hot cocoa but 7, because it's Christmas.

Finally they arrive. We hug and hot cocoa is sipped. We walk to the rosary pond circle. Our theology major friend, Billy is trying to educate us on the meaning behind this specific crucifix. The girls are trying to catch up on the past 3 days apart while the men just walk to make the cold more bearable.

3 minutes into this beautiful walk, over the loud speaker we hear..."the lights will be shut off in 15 minutes..."
Well shucks! The gang just drove an hour and I sat in my car for 30 mins, to now only enjoy 15 minutes of insanely awesome Christmas lights.

So with 15 minutes we are able to watch Peter climb some icey stairs that are labeled "do not enter for your own safety." Billy continues his theology lesson. John and Nicole are hoping that Peter falls on ice just so they can laugh even harder. And Ross just cannot wait to find a bathroom. Surprisingly Meg and I are the only normal behaved adults in this situation.

Even though we were only their for 15 minutes we accomplished what every group of Catholic kids would do. Pose for a quick picture Infront of the manger.

The night concluded with some KFC, even though there was a mcDanks with a  jungle gym right down the road...
Some literal nugs were enjoyed.

Please enjoy the jovial faces of these people who made my night a wonderful winter experience.

Who dah Nug?

was born on the kitchen floor. This may be symbolic of the recipe of my life. One second my pregnant mother was reaching for a glass of water, and the next, I was kicking and screaming beside the refrigerator door. I believe part of my Nugness is because I am quite different. If this is not different enough for you. I was also born in the amniotic sac, also know as "with the caul." 1 in 80,000 babies are born this way. Below is proof.

Fast Forward 20 years... And you have me as the nugget as I am today!
Wingapo! My name is Shannon Bridget White. I am a nursing major at The Catholic University of America, Washington DC. I am a Native American princess from Massachusetts but also kinda Rhode Island.
I like to watch movies, I love to play ping pong, and I love to cuddle even more than the two of those things combined.

And Happy Avent and Merry Christmas!

Now for the people of have helped me to become a Nug, and those who continue to help foster my nugget life style...

The parentals. They are the most patient and supportive people ever. Look for more stories about mum and dad.
Here the roles are reversed. They visited for a weekend. Waiting for them to tie their shoes as we walk the National Mall.

Here are the most amazing beautiful people you will ever meet. There are 8 of them. I live with these folks in community. I shall explain later and I promise they will come up in later stories but here is the run down.

Us behaving.

The usual. The honest portrayal.

Rose- next to me, my roommate. She puts up with a lot, like my random dancing. She is a kick but nursing student and the most thoughtful person you will ever meet.
Peter- a big kid. Constantly wants to play games. Always laughing or singing.
Annie-my favorite awkward relationship. All we do is try to freak each other out with weird looks.
Anthony- my favorite Cuban. A politician that believes in morals. Best for late night procrastination and weird sayings. Que Tu Sabe?
Meagan- love her. She has cool story after cool story. And is the best person to  share ice cream with... If she shares. Hardest worker but always up for some fun!
Rylee- my second mom. She watches out for all of us kiddos. Filled with so much love and great ideas. Best leader and best hair bow maker and model.
Joe- craziest, most passionate young man alive. A great inspiration. My favorite and most honest conversations are with this guy. Also, most creative email award goes to him.
Max- my best friend. A southern gentlemen with no southern swag. Most genuine guy in the world. Favorite ping pong partner. I love him for letting me share all sides of myself.

Then these two ladies. Nicole my New England twin. And Meghan my confidant.
And yet again Max. He deserves extra credit because he though of the name of this blog.

Of course there are many others! Such as Karina, Kendyl, Aimee and the GWODS. We will save those goodies for later.

And family cousin photos are coming after the holidays

These are all the people who have helped me become the nugget I am today. But still, what makes me a Nug? I hope you stick around for the stories to find out.

Prayers and Peace during the Holidays!

Much love,
Shannug
